A seasoned inventor, software developer and architect, Brent Matzelle was seeking a better way to manage the usability of file downloads in web applications when he co-founded Vuzit in 2006. Prior to Vuzit, Brent was the architect and product manager for NAVTEQ where he was responsible for leading the Traffic.com website team. There, Brent led the effort to adopt an AJAX-based development environment which reduced product development time by over 80%. Also while at Traffic.com, Brent co-invented and published 5 technology patents and was a member of the Media Development group where he designed and co-developed the first real-time 3D traffic reporting system used by broadcast television networks such as FOX, ABC, CBS, NBC, and UPN. Brent is also credited with the creation of the popular open source email transport library, PHPMailer, is downloaded over 100,000 per month and is distributed with hundreds of applications and content management systems. Brent holds his Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from Cabrini College.
Chris Cera is a technical leader and entrepreneur. Prior to Vuzit, Chris was the Director of Customer Experience & Development at Drakontas where he managed all research and development, customer relationships and IT operations. At Drakontas, Chris played an integral role in securing a multi-million dollar contract to create a Center of Excellence for the United States Department of Justice (DOJ) to oversee communications technologies for law enforcement. Chris met Brent while working in the Media Development group at Traffic.com, where he co-invented and published 5 technology patents and co-developed the first real-time 3D traffic reporting system used by broadcast television networks such as FOX, ABC, CBS, NBC, and UPN. As a researcher at Drexel University, Chris authored over 15 peer-reviewed publications funded by the Office of Naval Research (ONR) and the Pew Learning and Technology Program. His published contributions in electro-mechanical engineering design include role-based viewing, semantic authoring, conceptual and collaborative design. Chris holds both B.S and M.S degrees in Computer Science from Drexel University.
Greg Bright has experience developing software applications for the military, academia, pharmaceutical, and financial industries. Greg began his career at Lockheed Martin Management & Data Systems as a Software Engineer, where he developed large scale modeling programs that simulated satellite delivery systems for the U.S. Military. Greg later joined USABancShares.com, where he was instrumental in developing a wireless banking application and auction website. As an applications developer at Admed he created web-based training and testing applications for the business development teams at GlaxoSmithKline and Pfizer. Prior to joining Vuzit, Greg was an applications developer at Pierce College, a fully accredited on-site and on-line learning institution serving thousands of students in the continental United States and surrounding territories. Greg oversaw the development of their course management system, consumer website, online learning portal for students, and a variety of internal applications. Greg received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Computer Science from Lehigh University.
